1495 La Aurora

Wrapper : Sumatra Ecuador
Filler : Dominican, Nicaraguan, Peruvian
Binder : Corojo

Today's long overdue review is the 1495 series churchill by La Aurora. Blended by Jose Blanco for Aurora cigars the 1495 was created to honor Christopher Columbus founding the city of Santiago de los Caballeros in 1495.
Before cutting the cigar I was astounded by the amount of pepper taste just from wetting the cap. The foot has a mild earthy aroma that lingers on the palette.coupon initial lighting, the start of the cigar is slightly creamy but holds on to the spiciness with an excellent draw and lots of smoke to really let you appreciate the flavors. Once the 1495 cools down the spiciness mellows But the tanginess of the wrapper remains. Roughly halfway through, a hint of what tasted like nutmeg was revealed, molding itself into a slight sweetness accented by leather and cedar notes which lingered through to the finish.
The 1495 comes in a few different wrappers most notably the BME editions which are only abailable to Brick and mortar actuall cigar shops as opposed to online. The BME Brazilian wrapper and BME Ecuadorian wrapper as well as the original comprise Havana Sensation's cigar of the month for march and are on sale for a buy three get one free deal which offers a great opportunity to stop in and try these mild to medium bodied smokes. All in all a truly enjoyable smoke which I have added to my humidor for repeat smoking which I would recommend to anyone.
